A carefully positioned work of art is not just a pleasure to enjoy for years it can also act as an important focal point, exposing hidden spots or drawing the eye out to give the impression of depth or width. It can also add texture colour, height and, of course, year-round interest. When also lit it will bring your garden even more alive at night. Another benefit is that you can take it with you if you move so, if carefully chosen, it could be a life-long investment.
Whatever your preferences - for natural or man-made materials, plain or decorated pieces, containers for plants or stand-alone pieces to enjoy for their own sake - and your budget - some clients want to add less expensive touches while others want to splash out on the sky's the limit features - I can help you decide what would work best in your garden and then find it for you.

Adding drama to a dull corner
A dramatic piece of sculpted granite sits on a slate platform, drawing attention away from an otherwise plain white wall. A small spotlight concealed within nearby planting illuminates it at night, highlighting its natural, textured surface.

Subtly drawing attention
A natural driftwood sculpture nestles easily next to exotic plants adding shape and interest to this quiet courtyard garden. Notice how it draws the eye in from the wall, softening the impact of the brick while drawing attention to the climber behind.

Contrasting shapes and adding height
A tall, curved, terracotta pot makes a stunning feature against the brick of this house. The colours echo each other and the curves of the pot add just enough contrast to create interest without drawing attention away from the plants.

Strikingly calm
This beautiful yet sleek work of art can add a touch of sophistication in gardens for grown-ups or an element of playfulness in family gardens. Water flows gently over the acrylic sphere into a stainless steel dish below, adding shimmer even on a dull, grey day. The sphere acts as an aqualens - aspects of the garden are reflected in it adding further interest during the day; an internal light makes it a night time feature. Clients tell me it has a mesmeric quality, drawing them away from life's pressures.

Sympathetic shapes in shimmering steel
Even hard materials such as stainless steel can give a soft impression. The curved shape of the pots contrasts with the hardness of the material and provides a perfect spot for exotic plants. Here, silvery-blue flowers mirror the shimmer and colour of the steel while the long, spiked leaves provide a pleasing contrast with the rounded bowls; using pots of different sizes adds a further, but subtle, contrast.
